Fantastic Fucking Forty

Wow.
What a great day it has turned out to be.

First my co-worker decided to stop off at Giant and pick up an apple cinnamon creme cake for me.  Plus she gave me a card to boot! (Holy shit that cake was GOOOOOOOD)
How sweet.
Now I can't get annoyed by her...at least not today.  :D

Then, my spectacular, amazing, splendiforous friend Lorie, HAND DELIVERED balloons to my office!! And an adorable pink ribbon that said "Kiss me it's my BIRTHDAY!"
I wore that bitch all day, too!

It wasn't too much longer that the Royer's guy delivered some really pretty flowers to me...from the guys in the office!  It was all Tina's idea, but I made sure to thank everyone.

I got birthday wishes all day on Facebook, and a few phone calls as well!

For dinner I had two bagels and a fruit smoothie, because I could, before heading off to do some shopping with my birthday money and gift cards.

And finally, I'm finishing MY day eating Godiva chocolate (which was given to me by my other amazing friend Celena) while watching music videos that my friends shared with me.  Of course I am taking breaks from eating so that I can dance.

So...if I missed saying thank you to you....Thank you.
And if I already said it to you...Thank you, again.
Thank you for making my day awesome.
Your kind words mean more to me than I can ever really say.

I don't know what I was freaking out about.
Turning 40 was pretty fucking amazing.

This blog is brought to you by the letter, "F". "F" is for forty!

I turn 40 this year.  And it's sort of freaking me out a bit.  Just a tiny bit, but still a bit.
But something happened Saturday night to make the transition just a tiny bit easier.

My wonderful, amazeballs, aweseomsauce friends threw me (ME!)  a surprise birthday party.

I would love to share some pictures, but since it was a full moon, nobody took any.
No, seriously.
There isn't one picture to prove the party happened.
Which boggles my mind and makes me both mad at myself, and laugh with hysteria at the weirdness of it.

But despite the fact there are no pictures, a WONDERFUL time was had.

My friends make me feel like a superhero...and last night was my turn to wear the cape.

And I'm taking my friend Hayley's advice.
"Your 30's prepare you for not giving a fuck.  The forty's...you really don't give a fuck"

FUCK IT, FORTY!!

**Side note:
Thank you to every single person who took time out of their busy lives, to wish me a Happy Birthday in person.  Thank you for your time, your laughter, your presents, and the hugs.

To everyone else who was invited and couldn't make it?  Thank you for trying.  It would have been nice to see everyone, but I know life is hectic.  Know that I appreciate you.  <3 div="">

Special shout out to Lisa for the Wookiecakes.  Nom!!!

Big ups to Lorie for lying to me for MONTHS after getting the ball rolling on my secret bash.  Thank you for conspiring with my family to make it happen.

And a special thank you to Mr. S, who made sure I arrived on time.  (And thanks for carrying my balloons)

Seriously...you are all the bomb diggity and I love each and every one of you weirdos.

**Dammit Lorie....NOW the tears come!!!

I ain't gone nowhere

Yes, I'm still here.

I've been relatively quiet on the Internets, but rest assured things are happening.

But these things are private, for my eyes only.
So I've been spending more time writing with my actual hand and a pen, in my journal.
I haven't done that in quite awhile and I just realized why, today.

Not too long ago, my life felt very dark.  I quite literally hid from the world, within the confines of my crappy little town home.  And that's when I started blogging.  Because even though it was difficult for me to face the outside world, I still wanted to feel connected to it.
Blogging was the easiest way for me to do that.

But my world isn't dark anymore.  I no longer fear losing myself within the walls I live in.

So the private stuff, stays private, and away from the prying eyes of the Internet world.
Like one of those notes you wrote in junior high...all folded down to an itty bitty wad of top secret hormonal rage.
And I think that's best for everyone involved.

Never fear though.  I will always be good for a raunchy story, or self inflicted ribbing.
