As a kite

I think I'm riding some sort of high.
I hate to jinx myself, but I haven't felt a real "low" since October.
Yeah the holidays were hard, but not horrible.

I'm not sure what the reason is.
Maybe my hormones are giving me a break.
Maybe this St. John's Wort is helping out with more than just anxiety.
Or maybe the stars and planets have all aligned.

No matter what the reason, I'm taking this time to be thankful for all of the wonderful things going on in my life.  And of course, I'm going to share them with you, gentle reader. *

Number 1.  I have somehow managed to surround myself with the MOST amazing people in the history of the world.  Seriously.  My circle is amazeballs.

Number 2. My son.  It's weird and also good, but my heart continues to grow for this level 9 human.  Never too much love, I say!

Number 3. My relationship with my ex is actually improving.  Yes, he's still a complete douche-bag for every horrible thing he's ever done to me (duh).  But it's like we work harder now that we aren't married.  As if our divorce has given us the clarity we needed to realize that it's not about us, at all.

Number 4. LOSING WEIGHT MOTHER FUCKERS!

Number 5. I don't really have a number 5 but I can't have a list of four things, so says my OCD.

So tell me.
What amazing things are going on in your life right now?

For those who save

Two years ago, tomorrow, my life changed forever.
They didn't know it.
Hell, I didn't even know it.

But on January 7th, 2011, everything changed.

That night I reconnected with a friend in ways I had never thought possible.  I let go of hatred that I had been holding on to for far too long.  And I let someone see the vulnerable pieces of me that I never thought would see the light of day.  That night, she became family.

That same night I met two other people who would soon become very important to me in ways I can't possible describe.

She...one who shares my love of vulgar, my childhood of not having, and my need for laughter.

He...one who makes me think, laugh and wonder.

I'm not sure if they know it, but I think they saved me.
