What an incredible, amazing, death de-fying week it has been.
Or was that just Wednesday?
Either way, many things happened, wishes were granted, and good times were had.
And along the way, I found some great new music.
Lulu and the Lampshades...
I found these ladies in a round-a-bout way. They only have a few songs laid down but a few more videos are available for your viewing pleasure on youtube.
Here is my favorite one so far.
And here is the video which led me to them (found on redditt):
Shit. Someone sign this girl now! I could listen to her voice all day.
Now here is a band from Missouri called 'Ha Ha Tonka'. My friend Lorie was kind enough to introduce me to their music. So far, the few songs I've heard are incredible. And what I like even more?
The lead singer is a ginger! Represent yo!
Here is the first song of theirs I heard, therefore my favorite so far.
Now onto one of my favorite finds for this week. Well actually it was last week but really, who is keeping track? I have to thank my bestest friend Celena for this find. Apparently one of their songs was featured in a group dance on the show "So you think you can dance?". But apparently I miss all the good stuff because I'm not paying enough attention to the actual music.
But here are two of my favorite songs from a duo called "The Civil Wars".
These two lovely people amaze me every time I listen to them. What astounds me the most is that they are married...TO OTHER PEOPLE! They sing and react to each other with such emotion.
LOVE!!
Other things happened this week but nothing I'm comfortable sharing with the rest of the world.
What's that?
Me, keep secrets from my viewing audience?
Yep that's right...I do keep some things private.
But only because they are the juiciest bits.

To state the obvious
It has been brought to my attention that I have issues.
Let me just state for the record.
DUH!
It really doesn't require a high amount of intelligence to figure that out.
There are reasons that I have issues. I've seen things as a child that I never should have. I grew up way too fast, and my quite honestly, my parents were sort of fucked up.
However there comes a time in your life when you can no longer blame your childhood or past on what is presented in the 'today'.
In short; I own my issues.
And I work very hard at changing the things in my life that have fucked me up.
I think it is that potential growth that we should be judged on. Not the issues themselves.
Because let's face it...who doesn't have issues?
Hell some people have entire subscriptions!
Don't get it twisted. I'm not angry at the person(s) who say or think this. Frankly, how can I be?
I decide what goes on this blog, and if I'm putting it out there, people are going to have opinions.
In fact, I welcome the discussion.
If my issues get people talking about their own...it can't be all bad, right?

This is what it feels like to be stunned.
"I wanted to be like you when I grew up."
I'm not sure if more powerful words were ever spoken. At least not to me. These are words that I always hoped my son would say to me one day in the future. I think we want our children to think highly enough of us, that they want to be like us when they are adults.
But when it's not our child that says these words, they take on new meaning.
Our friends know things about us that our children often don't. Deep dark secrets, quirks, faults, mistakes, and regrets.
Our children often gloss over those things and see the side of us that appears to be perfect.
So I'm left to wonder, why on earth would anyone want to be like me?
I'm vulgar, complicated, high-strung, mouthy, moody, and sometimes a bit obnoxious.
But I'm starting to notice something.
People don't see me that way.
And I think I like it.
So instead of wondering why someone would ever want to be like me, I will keep those words and hold them in my heart. I will memorize the way your face looked as you said them. And I will honor them by promising to run like a 12 year old, whenever I can.
